Queen`s Legal Aid (QLA), the oldest and largest clinical program at Queen`s University, has played an important role in providing the Faculty of Law to the community for decades. Working closely with Legal Aid Ontario, QLA provides a wide range of legal services to low-income residents and students at Queen`s University and Saint Lawrence College. The Legal Aid Society is a private, not-for-profit legal advisory organization, the oldest and largest in the country, dedicated to providing quality legal representation to low-income New Yorkers since 1876. It is dedicated to a simple but powerful belief: no New Yorker should be denied access to justice because of poverty. The Queen`s Business Law Clinic (QBLC) offers a range of free legal services to qualified local clients. Our services range from shareholder agreements to brand valuations. Queens Legal Services provides high-quality civil law services, social work support and advocacy to low-income Queens communities. Founded in 1967, our more than 65 employees support more than 5,000 people each year and reach thousands more through outreach and legal education in the community. QLS advocates for practice in many areas, including: For each client, you will thoroughly research their case and provide a clear explanation of your legal advice and options. They could work on crimes where imprisonment is not likely after conviction; disputes over working conditions; EI salary or eligibility; appeals against people with disabilities or issues with Ontario Works; relatively serious crimes in the province; small claims litigation; or tenants` rights.
